I am named after my maternal and paternal grandmothers. Both have passed on, and I think of them often. They were both strong, independent women in their own way. My maternal grandmother, an artist and entrepreneur, is especially someone I admire. Whenever I am anxious or apprehensive about self-publishing, i.e., about “going it alone.” I often think of her. She opened her own jewelry store decades ago when I’m sure things for women weren’t as easy as today (even though it’s still not “easy”). With dedication and hard work, she proved that anything is possible.
If my grandmother can do it, and be successful, then so can I!
